On March 4, 2025, the Association of Free Russians in Portugal held a charity lecture by the French-Portuguese historian Victor Pereira "A New Look at the Carnation Revolution in Portugal and the Role of the Opposition Movement in Exile". Victor Pereira specializes in the history of Portugal in the 20th century and the history of the Portuguese diaspora.

Victor Pereira is currently a research fellow at NOVA University in Lisbon and the author of the book "The People Decide. The Carnation Revolution: 1974-1976" (published in French and soon in Portuguese), which offers a new look at the Carnation Revolution. This revolution was not just the overthrow of a dictatorship by the army, it brought about profound social and democratic changes in Portugal and led to the independence of its former colonies.

He spoke about the Portuguese revolutionary process, highlighting the various social movements, as well as the role played by the Portuguese opposition movements in exile and the Portuguese diaspora.
Victor kindly agreed to give this lecture for you free of charge. The Anti-War Committee paid for the simultaneous interpretation of this lecture for you. This allowed us to make this lecture a charity one, although we still had to pay for the rent of the conference room.
We collected 185 euros for the rent of the conference room and 40 euros were transferred to the Energy for Life collection, which is carried out by Russian anti-war activists around the world, purchasing portable power stations at the request of hospitals and schools in Ukraine.
