On January 14, the human rights organization Iran Human Rights reported that at least 3,428 protesters have been killed and more than 10,000 arrested during 18 days of anti-government protests in Iran. Israeli and Iranian intelligence sources say the death toll may be as high as 20,000. There are also reports of protesters being shot after raising their hands, and of the wounded being killed.
