A 15 de junho, o Conselho da UE aprovou um novo pacote de sanções. Pela primeira vez, a lista inclui, num bloco separado, juízes e procuradores, agentes das forças de segurança, membros do FSB e pessoal médico envolvidos na perseguição, no envenenamento e na morte de Alexei Navalny. Foi também incluída a empresa que desenvolve um sistema de reconhecimento facial, cuja tecnologia foi usada pelas autoridades para identificar e deter manifestantes. Foram igualmente alvo de sanções propagandistas, a «frota-sombra», bem como fabricantes e fornecedores de drones e de equipamento militar.

Antes, tinha sido agente da polícia e, em 2022, foi mobilizado. Durante mais de dois anos, trabalhou como médico a retirar feridos da linha da frente. Ao recolher corpos de russos e de ucranianos, percebeu que estava a combater do lado do agressor e criou os canais contra a guerra «Diário de um Cossaco», onde criticava Putin e denunciava a corrupção no exército. Contou como, por causa disso, a polícia militar o espancou e o manteve num buraco, e que só a boa disposição dos superiores lhe permitiu salvar a vida em troca de apagar os canais. Ausentou-se sem autorização pela primeira vez quando lhe recusaram uma permição para ajudar o filho, doente com cancro, a receber tratamento; e, quando decidiram enviá-lo para um assalto, resolveu desertar. Durante quase dez meses, sobreviveu nas florestas e procurou uma forma de atravessar a fronteira; foi capturado, mas conseguiu fugir de novo. Agora, através do seu projeto «Tviordy Znak», ajuda a abandonar a guerra aqueles que perceberam que também se enganaram.

A 8 de junho foi publicada uma lei que autoriza, em Portugal, um regime de testes de condução autónoma. A partir de julho, as instituições de ensino superior, os laboratórios e as empresas poderão testar veículos autónomos nas estradas. O objetivo é dar mobilidade a quem não pode conduzir por motivos de saúde ou por outras razões.

On June 15, the EU Council adopted a new sanctions package. For the first time, the list sets apart judges and prosecutors, law enforcement officers, FSB officials and medical personnel involved in the persecution, poisoning and death of Alexei Navalny. It also includes a company developing a facial-recognition system whose technology authorities used to identify and detain protesters. Propagandists, the "shadow fleet" and manufacturers and suppliers of drones and military equipment were also targeted.

A former police officer, he was mobilized in 2022. For more than two years, he served as a medic, evacuating the wounded from the front line. While recovering the bodies of Russians and Ukrainians, he realized he was fighting on the aggressor's side and started the anti-war channels "Cossack's Diary," where he criticized Putin and exposed corruption in the army. He described how military police beat him and held him in a pit for it, and said he survived only because his commanders were in a good mood and agreed to spare him in exchange for deleting the channels. He first went AWOL after being denied leave to help his son, who had cancer, get treatment. When they decided to send him on an assault mission, he chose to desert. He survived in the forests for nearly 10 months, looking for a way to cross the border. He was caught and managed to escape again. Now, through his project "Hard Sign," he helps to get out of the war others who have realized they were wrong.

On June 8, a law was published authorizing autonomous-driving trials in Portugal. Starting in July, universities, laboratories and companies will be able to test driverless vehicles on public roads. The goal is to provide mobility to people who cannot drive themselves for health or other reasons.

Russia had been among the global leaders: Yandex's self-driving cars were driving on Moscow streets more than five years ago, and many people saw them firsthand. After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, sanctions and geopolitics tore the company apart: Yandex founder Arkady Volozh condemned the "barbaric invasion" and stepped down, and the international division split off.
