11 июля издание "The Insider" рассказало о том, что 6 и 7 июля военизированная группировка хуситов, поддерживаемых властями Ирана, потопила 2 торговых судна: Magic Seas и Eternity C. Охрана суден 2 дня отбивала атаки, но так как помощь со стороны британского флота и европейской миссии "Аспидес" не пришла из-за отсуствия военных кораблей в районе атаки, экпиажи покинули суда.

8 июля новостной канал "Euronews" рассказал со ссылкой на Министерство иностранных дел Германии, что самолёт Бундесвера миссии "Аспидес" стал жертвой удара китайской лазерной установки во время наблюдательного полёта в районе Красного моря. Вооружённые силы стран Евросоюза ведут здесь операцию против хуситов с целью защитить гражданское судоходство от нападений.

4 июля новостная организация "South China Morning Post" со ссылкой на источники сообщила, что во время четырёхчасовой встречи в Брюсселе в ответ на призыв главы европейской дипломатии Каи Каллас прекратить «любую материальную поддержку» военного комплекса России, Министр иностранных дел Китая Ван И заявил, что Пекин не хочет, чтобы Россия проиграла в Украине, потому что опасается, что в этом случае США обратят всё своё внимание на КНР.

On July 11, The Insider reported that on July 6 and 7, the Houthi paramilitary group—backed by Iranian authorities—sank two merchant ships: Magic Seas and Eternity C. The ships’ guards resisted the attacks for two days, but with no assistance from the British fleet or the European "Aspides" mission—due to the absence of warships in the area—the crews were forced to abandon the vessels.

On July 8, Euronews reported—citing the German Foreign Ministry—that a Bundeswehr aircraft participating in the Aspides mission was struck by a Chinese laser system during a surveillance flight over the Red Sea. EU forces are conducting operations there to protect civilian shipping from Houthi attacks.

On July 4, the South China Morning Post, citing sources, reported that during a four-hour meeting in Brussels, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi responded to European Union’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas’s call to end "any material support" for Russia’s military industry by saying that Beijing does not want Russia to lose in Ukraine—fearing that, in such a case, the U.S. would shift its full attention to China.
