On December 16, despite squabbles within our opposition, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe launched the building of a list of potential candidates to participate in the Platform of Russian Democratic Forces. The list must be submitted by a joint decision of Russian democratic organizations by January 5, 2026. Based on this list, the President of the Assembly will propose a list of Participants for approval by the Bureau of the Assembly.

Since early December, the Russian army has been attacking the energy and railway infrastructure of the Odessa region almost daily. As a result of massive shelling on the night of December 18–19, eight people were killed and 27 were injured. Tens of thousands of apartments and private homes were left without electricity and heat.
