Leak: Fake News and Memes to Undermine Aid to Ukraine. RT Purchases Weapons. Forest Fires in Portugal.

You are watching the news from the weekly rally at the Russian Embassy in Lisbon. Today is September 21, 2:30 PM.

German media outlets received leaked internal documents from the Russian "Social Design Agency" (SDA). The SDA is reportedly creating fake news, caricatures, and memes aimed at undermining Ukrainian society. These materials are being used to spread discontent among Ukrainians and weaken Western support for the country. These fakes have even been picked up by notable figures, including some in the U.S. The SDA has also supported parties like the Alternative for Germany, France’s National Front, and Viktor Medvedchuk’s pro-Kremlin National Front in Ukraine.

An Israeli investigative outlet participated in the investigation, reporting the SDA’s efforts to sway Israeli public opinion. It also revealed that anti-Ukrainian leaflets were distributed in synagogues, along with inflammatory graffiti. The journalists also found a campaign of incitement targeting Russian immigrants in several European countries.

On September 13, the U.S. State Department warned that RT has been secretly recruiting and paying social media influencers and purchasing lethal aid for the Russian military. While sanctions have been imposed, they don’t prevent sanctioned individuals from engaging in non-prohibited journalism.

Yesterday, anti-war and pro-democracy Russian communities worldwide, alongside the Russian Anti-War Committee, launched a fundraiser for portable power stations to supply hospitals and schools in Ukraine. The goal is to raise 100,000 euros to purchase 119 portable stations and essential equipment. Every donation can make a difference.
