On October 19 and 20, the Russie-Libertés 2024: Anti-war Resistance Continues forum took place in Paris.

The forum covered human rights issues in Russia, democratic resistance, and the global threat posed by Putinism. Discussions included crimes against Ukrainian children deported by the regime, its impact on future generations in Russia, and disinformation campaigns in Europe. Organized with support from Paris City Hall and many international human rights, journalism, and cultural organizations, as well as Russian anti-war activist associations, the event drew significant attention.

The program also featured speakers from other countries. Notably moving was the speech by Anastasia Bulybenko, a young Belarusian who endured the Okrestino detention center—be sure to watch it.

The forum also addressed issues of cultural equality and decolonization. Lana Pylaeva spoke on issues affecting the Komi people and urged that they be supported by raising awareness. Timofey, who attended on our behalf, called for the rejection of "principled positions" that prevent unity, reminding everyone that someday they will work in the parliament of the “beautiful future Russia” and that now is the time to think about building it.

We caught Alexander behind the scenes to discuss his initiative, "Farewell to Arms." In 2022, he and his group rejected participation in Putin’s criminal aggression in Ukraine and fled to Kazakhstan. There, they organized to help others opposed to this war escape as they did.

Alongside other Russian anti-war and pro-democracy activists, we spread information about fundraising for portable power stations for Ukrainian hospitals and schools. We also created an item for a charity auction to support this fundraiser.
