On October 31, Correio da Manhã reported that during the night of October 25–26, unknown individuals, apparently familiar with railway operations, damaged the locks on two switches on the Oeste Line in Porto. The driver of a passing train noticed the issue, braked, and prevented a derailment. An investigation is underway.

On October 7, Iran International reported that Iran’s leadership is attempting to contain public discontent. Speaking to reporters on October 3, Expediency Council member Mohammad-Reza Bahonar stated that the Hijab and Chastity Law “no longer legally enforceable.” At the same time, ultra-hardline lawmakers are speaking out against the “savage, naked Western system.”

On October 30, the Memorial Human Rights Center spoke about a “struggle for women’s moral integrity” that has been underway in Chechnya since 2006. Headscarves have gradually become required in administrative buildings and educational institutions. On October 23, Amirkhan Sugaipov, an aide to the head of the Chechen Republic, said the authorities would hold “explanatory talks” with those who will not wear headscarves. Women interviewed by Human Rights Watch described the current situation as humiliating.

On October 19, the body of 23-year-old Chechen woman Aishat Baimuradova was found in Yerevan. She had fled Chechnya to Armenia due to domestic violence and threats to her life. Aishat received threats even in Armenia for speaking out about the oppression of women in the North Caucasus. The crisis group “SK SOS” has launched a petition calling on the Armenian authorities to conduct an investigation independent of political pressure and to strengthen protection for those most at risk.

Almost everywhere in the comments, there are bots with AI algorithms, whose goal is to create the illusion that many people agree with the war, but in reality, there are 100 times more of us, real people, who are painful to watch this utter hell, chaos, and injustice, a 100 times more. VICTORY WILL BE OURS. EVERY DOG OF THE REGIME WILL ANSWER JUSTLY!!!”
