On May 24 at 11:08 PM Beijing time, a Changzheng-2F rocket launched the Shenzhou-23 spacecraft into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

About three and a half hours later, the spacecraft docked with the Tianhe core module of the Tiangong space station.

The crew will stay at the station for about six months and conduct dozens of scientific and applied experiments. One crew member will remain in orbit for a full year to study the limits of human adaptation and performance during long-duration spaceflight.
