The Universe wants to destroy us. Centered over Iceland there is a plume that carries hot material from deep within Earth's mantle, and up to the crust. This massive bulge is known as the North Atlantic Igneous Province. The Thulean Plateau is part of this enormous geological feature.
12.800 years ago and due to glaciation, sea levels were considerably lower, thus exposing the Thulean Plateau.
North America and Europe were united by the Thulean Plateau; an unimaginable wall of land and ice, stretching from Northern Ireland and all the way to Greenland, hundreds of meters above sea level. Vast swathes of ice packs covered the North Atlantic and Artic Oceans.
Back then, the Pacific did not touch the Atlantic in the World Ocean system.
A cosmogenic event took place when comet Encke, like a machine gun, showered the Earth; leaving in its path a mark stretching from the Pacific to the North Pole.
It shattered in pieces Earth's then much larger northern ice cap, leaving only Greenland for History.
12,800 years ago the Thulean Plateau was washed away in the catastrophic displacements of ice, water and land ensuing Encke's impact. Iceland, the British Isles and some other exposed land, such as the Faroe Islands, are the remains of this unfathomable event.
