🙋 155th Weekly protest
Livestock is slaughtered in Russia. Mr. Nobody Against Putin. Achievements of Portuguese scientists.
You're watching news from the weekly rally in front of the Russian Embassy in Lisbon. Today is March 21st, 2:30 PM.
On March 15, an interview with farmer Svetlana Panina and her husband was released on the "Disclosedlive" YouTube channel. Svetlana said that a quarantine had been imposed in the village; they talked about pasteurellosis, vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, and did not even show them the test results. Panina claims that, in her absence, veterinarians and security forces entered her property and slaughtered all her livestock: 40 cows, 150 sheep, goats, camels, and pigs. She believes the animals were healthy and that the authorities' actions were illegal. Watch, it sounds like an episode of "The X-Files."

On March 13, according to the daughter of a veterinarian in the Novopichugovo village, her mother was fired for "professional incompetence" after she became ill when she was told she had to go to the farm to euthanize cattle.

We all face a moral choice, but luckily, even a nobody is more powerful than you think," said David Borenstein in his Oscar acceptance speech.

On March 13, Observador reported that Portuguese scientists are installing the POET solar telescope in Chile's Atacama Desert. It should help them better study the Sun, stars, and exoplanets. The telescope was developed by a team from the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences, together with specialists from the universities of Lisbon and Porto.

On March 18, TEK Notícias reported that Portugal is preparing a constellation of 12 LUSÍADA satellites to improve maritime communications and enhance shipping safety. They will operate using the new VDES system, which should reduce the load on the aging and less secure AIS.
