Cuba to release 51 prisoners. European nuclear energy. Moscow under “whitelists.”

On March 13, Reuters reported that Cuba, in agreement with the Vatican, would release 51 prisoners as a gesture of goodwill.

On March 10, Deutsche Welle reported that, at the opening of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that Europe’s abandonment of nuclear energy had been a strategic mistake. She also announced the creation of a €200 million European Nuclear Energy Innovation Fund.

On March 13, the online outlet forbes.ru, citing sources, reported that “whitelists” of websites had begun operating in Moscow. These are websites that remain accessible when the authorities shut down the internet. Mobile phone and internet outages in Moscow began on March 6.

On March 10, Deutsche Welle reported that Berlin historian Rainer Zitelmann had received a lawsuit from an unknown person for reposting an image on X social network. The image, which alludes to the events of 1938, depicts Hitler with the phrase in English: “Give me Czechoslovakia, and I will never attack anyone again.” Putin is depicted next to him with the same phrase, but about Ukraine.
